I do not like the hard casing but suppose that is the price for going eco, will take some getting used to. That said it does work, gets nice and hot and as a hot water bottle it is better than all the Chinese ones I have viewed and avoided at all cost. If you do not want a hard shell against your skin I would not recommend but if not then this is the best eco bottle around and for me I enjoy putting my feet on it in bed and do not mind the shell.
